My speech

“Hey Dad, I've got more steps than you,” I say to my dad.
“Great Jack!  How many steps did you do?”
“13 000 today!” I proclaim proudly.
How do I know how many steps I’ve done you may ask…By looking on my Fitbit of course!  I believe Fitbits are amazing and I am here to persuade you that everyone should have one.  My first main idea is that they tell the time, secondly, they show steps taken per day and lastly, they show sleep patterns and your heart rate.

They tell time
Firstly, Fitbits show the time. This helps so you can plan your day and not miss events eg: work, flights, weddings, public transport, and sports games. It is also easier because you don't have to pull a phone out of your pocket, you can just take a look at your wrist.  With a Fitbit helping you to tell the time, you will be super organized, alert and always prepared.

They show steps
Secondly, Fitbits help you to track the number of steps you take per day.  You're probably thinking how is this good? Well, tracking steps is good because you can set goals to accomplish every day to keep you fit and healthy.  The World Health Organisation states that adults between the ages of 18 to 64 should do at least 150 minutes of moderate physical activity per week. The benefits of daily exercise include having a healthy heart, increased self-esteem, lowering the risk of getting type two diabetes, lowering your blood pressure, strengthening your muscles, increased metabolism and developing good healthy habits.  Tracking your steps on a Fitbit would help you to be aware of how active you are each day and motivate you to keep moving!

They show sleep and heart rate
Lastly, Fitbit's show your heart rate and sleep patterns.  You can see if your heart is pumping too high or pumping too low.  The Kids Health Organisation states that a child's heart normally beats faster than an adult's. A healthy adult heart rate can range from 60 to 100 beats per minute during rest. Kids' heart rates can be as low as 60 beats per minute during sleep and as high as 220 beats per minute during strenuous physical activity.  It is good to know your heart rate because a heart rate that is too fast or too slow can be a sign of disease or illness in the body.  It is also good to understand your sleep patterns to see if you are getting the right amount of sleep each night to remain healthy.
The National Blood, Heart, and Lung Institute in the USA says that sleep is involved in the healing and repair of your heart and blood vessels. Ongoing sleep deficiency is linked to an increased risk of heart disease, kidney disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, and stroke.   If you're not getting the right amount of sleep you might have some sleep disorders like jet lag, night terrors, sleepwalking or you could even have a too soft pillow or too hard pillow.   Fitbit’s help to make you aware of your sleep patterns so that if you are not getting enough sleep you can make changes or see your doctor for help.

Conclusion
To sum it all up, it's amazing to have a Fitbit.  They help you to tell the time, they show the steps you take and they show sleep and heart rate.  SO GO OUT AND GET A FITBIT NOW!!!!
